I am temporarily experiencing a monumental change in myself.
Ok I am TRYING to change myself.
Constant melancholia does absolutely nothing for a person and frankly, I really do wanna try.
So for a while, I will be blogging at http://www.psychopinkcupcake.blogspot.com which is everything I usually am NOT.
Trying to be happy and upbeat is pretty tiring but hey...I'm hanging in there. ;)
Maybe one day I will be able to do something that really makes ME proud to be me. Till then I'll focus on just being happy.
Moody thoughts will still appear here though...no one can become Pollyanna in just a week!
Wish me luck on trying to change myself for the better~!!
:)

A few days in one post...oh well, its not as though my life is all that interesting!
Caught The Day The Earth Stood Still with LY and her bf...
It wasn't all that bad but seriously, with the slew of movies all containing not-so-obvious (and some VERY obvious) environmental overtones, this one falls a little short of the others.
That's not to say I didn't like it...I did. But the characters seemed woefully underdeveloped and the filmmakers left so many plot holes, it made DBKL look tame!
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
(you can skip this if you haven't watched it)
I seriously felt ultra annoyed by that whiny little brat who seriously should have been a charming wounded child. All I got was brat brat BRAT~!
And how does this brat warm up to the alien?
He was saved from slipping into some storm drain.
Hello? The change in view was way too abrupt!!
-----------------------------------------------------------
Also, it was ridiculously easy for the lady to leave a supposedly well-guarded military compound just because of a disruption! And won't they go looking for her?
Apparently not.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Also, after all that, the alien just suddenly changes his views (again too abruptly and for extremely mundane reasons) and quite easily stops...well...the Earth from being destroyed.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Ah well....it wasn't all bad. The best part of the movie were the trailers at the beginning~!
Lolz~!!
*SPOILERS END*
Yesterday, went on a shopping trip...ok I was the consultant so I didn't buy anything...
But I took Joa out shopping for her prom dress and the lucky b**** had four potentials!! That's more options in dresses that I have for a YEAR...or maybe two.
So anyways, she got herself a gorgeous dress and liquid foundation.
It was done much faster than I thought since she had to rush to feed a very cute puppy~!
Anyways, as we were walking to Sasa for her foundation, the North Court was SNOWING~!! Ookie...tiny little snow(soap?)flakes but the effect was gorgeous~!! People must have thought so too because the whole court was PACKED with eager people it was hard to breathe~!
Left and went home to a lovely Vit Mee-ABC-Fried Jap Eggs dinner by LY. The whole mishmash was amazing babe~! *hugz*
Ok, moving on....(I noticed I'm back to blogging disjointedly...oh well that's the natural progression of my thoughts these days so...I guess that girl was right. I do have a problem articulating my thoughts. Which is lucky for a few people since if I were able to say what I want to say, I'd slash and rip their self-confidence and general annoying attitude to shreds...and then some! But I digress...)
This weekend seems to have flown by...I think I've actually created a deeper attachment to my Sims than I have for humans! Gah~!
Time to come back to the real world...and certain people I'd love to kill but just won't because I can't.
Duncha just looooooooovvveeee reality? Tchah~!

Vic and her bf finally agreed!!
SO YES~!! I GET TO FINALLY DO A COUPLE SHOOT~!!
It's going to be a massive relief to finally put my ideas on paper...so to speak...and shoot that vision that's been clouding my brain for a while now. Maybe I should work on creating a makeshift studio that I can use anywhere! Hmm....dreamz...dreamz...
For the Dark Circus shoot (thanks LMei for pointing me in the right direction! You've gotta help me ya...) I have two people in mind....wonder how they'd take to each other...hmm...
GAH~!! Hopefully I can wrest the camera back in time for the shoot! Or save up enough to buy my own....even the basic body kit is a KILLER in terms of price. *sigh* Not to mention lenses...a proper tripod...flash etc etc...
Maybe if I wish really hard one might fall out of the sky at my feet!! And maybe hippos with fly!

It's that wonderful time of year again where we pull out those twinkling lights and wake up every morning hoping against hope it will snow (yeah...with the current environment shifts, who knows?)!!
IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME~!!!!
I'm not sure about everyone but this is my favourite time of year, when all the malls go all out with Christmas deco (sales and sales!), red Santa hats and gifts!! Which brings me to the purpose of this post. LoLz~!
My Women Stuff is having a My Women Stuff Christmas Giveaway!! And she has really REALLY cool stuff too! I think she's one of the beauty bloggers that really gives back though I only read very few so I can't say for sure! All details of the Christmas Giveaway can be found in the link above so Click Click if you're interested! :)
(Hint: She's giving away at least 10 sets!!)
I'm eyeing the Rootote one because (well I've never had a Rootote!) the wallet is screaming to me...and actually everything else too! I think people who know me, know what a makeup freak I am and one of my upcoming New Year's resolutions is to be more spontaneous and to take more chances!! Hence my first time joining an online contest!
Cross my fingers tightly that I'll win something for once! *grinz*

I have puttered to and fro...
dwelt...
then dwelt upon my problem again and again until it sickened me to even think about it..
Finally,
I have reached a solid conclusion.
For once, I have made my decision and I shall stick to it.
I might regret it...and it's a risk...and I never take risks...
The feeling was like standing at the precipice and looking the abyss in the face...
then taking a giant leap of faith.
And I've never been happier...

Okay...back to the birthday.
*Note: This was the post bloody Blogger deleted so it's a pretty late one. Oh well I get to add stuff to it then!!*
It was supposed to be a farewell for the interns...so even though we were exhausted (ok, Leo wasn't exhausted he was practically HOPPING with excitement! >.<) and it was raining pretty heavily, we all piled in Leo's car to drive to Neway Puchong.

(Playing with Leo's Alvin on the way)

(Rainy dismal way to Puchong...ok I lied. I love rainy days!)
Yep, karaoke.
Lemme just say that this would be my third time only in a karaoke joint and I totally wasn't looking forward to it since the last two times...were...pretty dismal actually! The first was an absolute disaster (won't get into why...) and the second time was only so-so...
When we got there, my first thought was, "God this place is freaking COLD!!" And coming from me, it must mean it was REALLY cold since everyone else was shivering. Totally raided the buffet section with the interns and Leo since we all assumed we were taking food for the whole office. WQ being off that day was only joining later so we took for Irene, Ms Ang, Leo, the two interns and me.
When we had food enough for an army, we started...well....attacking it. Rainy days and cold places are totally conducive to eating I can tell you! Started singing all sorts of songs which was really FUN since everyone was into it!! And OMG....Irene can totally SING!!!! She does Whitney effortlessly!! Though not as powerful but every bit as melodious!
WQ pops in after TWO hours of us doing nonsense...and stuff I totally cannot erase from my head (thanks Leo! >.<) and the interns really letting loose all over the room! Anyways, all through this, some guy from Neway keeps popping in, asking "Is there a birthday here?". Being totally doink I thought he was some confused soul or that someone else was having a bday there! (In my defense it was one week early ya!)
It only hit me when they brought in the Durian Durian cake from SR! Irene remembered I like the cake so that's what she got! So touched I almost cried. That night we yowled and danced and went crazy (part of the birthday surprise included beer...and no I only sipped a little!) until two am!
I paid for it the next day with a full blown flu (memang wasn't feeling well) and a totally hoarse voice.
My first surprise bday by my colleagues!! LOVE YOU ALL SO SO MUCHIEZ~!!!
*additional info*
The surprise by LY, Jenn, VY and CL (plus Simon) was slightly less subtle since it was kinda obvious! Went to the Dessert Bar where I had my FIRST EVER chocolate fondue!! It was really really REALLY fun too since it was the first time I ever played Uno Stacko!!! Poor Simon was seriously bullied by us! ^^
Anyways, thanks Jenn for the Hazel contacts and the cute cute bear! *hugz muackiezzz*
Thanks LY for the hand-sewn pillow! (tho I maintain it looks like '11nd' instead of '22nd'! *ducks*)
And thank you everyone for the Facebook and Friendster messages. I'm sorry I haven't been sending you bday wishes too. Work is no excuse, I admit I'm totally lousy at friend follow-ups! Thank you for forgiving me and giving me wishes anyways! I LOVE YOU ALLL~!!!!
To all of you whose birthday I missed or forgot...
HAPPY (EXTREMELY) BELATED BIRTHDAY~!!!!

I've always thought that out of all my friends I was the "ugly" one. In high school, it was our "Gila" gang.
I've never said it but I've always wondered why I seem to end up with groups where the girls are so pretty and I always end up feeling small and insignificant somehow. In KTAR (and/or UTAR) it was Jenn, LY, VY and Su Hui....all the girls who got all the attention. I've always wondered why they were friends with me...in fact if it weren't for Jenna Babe and LY...I guess we'd all be doing different things!
LY, for all my complaints about you, you were the reason the group actually came about. If not for your....er...persistence...we'd all never get as close as we are now.
But anyways, back to the point....I remember once saying our group were like pearls...I even had different pearls to describe each girl (except me). In any case, I saw this postcard today.
I think I posted this because of the answer someone gave.

I studied this secret for quite a while, I'm still not sure which one the ugly one was supposed to be. They are both beautiful.

Help, I have done it again
I have been here many times before
Hurt myself again today
And, the worst part is there's no-one else to blame
Be my friend
Hold me, wrap me up
Unfold me
I am small
and needy
Warm me up
And breathe me
Ouch I have lost myself again
Lost myself and I am nowhere to be found,
Yeah I think that I might break
Lost myself again and I feel unsafe
Be my friend
Hold me, wrap me up
Unfold me
I am small
and needy
Warm me up
And breathe me

Please read this : The Girl In The Window
::~::Concrete Angel::~::
Artiste : Martina McBride
She walks to school with the lunch that she packed
Nobody knows what she's holdin' back
Wearin' the same dress she wore yesterday
She hides the bruises with the linen and lace oh
The teacher wonders but she doesn't ask
It's hard to see the pain behind the mask
Bearing the burden of a secret storm
Sometimes she wishes she was never born
[chorus]
Through the wind and the rain
She stands hard as a stone
In a world that she can't rise above
But her dreams give her wings
And she flies to a place where she's loved
Concrete angel
Somebody cries in the middle of the night
The neighbors hear, but they turn out the lights
A fragile soul caught in the hands of fate
When morning comes it'll be too late
[Repeat Chorus]
A statue stands in a shaded place
An angel girl with an upturned face
A name is written on a polished rock
A broken heart that the world forgot
[Repeat Chorus]

Here are a few choice excerpts:
"Malaysia on Tuesday canceled a concert by Canadian rock singer Avril Lavigne, saying it may taint the Muslim-majority country's independence day celebrations after the Islamic opposition slammed her show as being "too sexy.""
Too sexy?? AVRIL??
"It is not timely. It's not in the good spirit of our National Day. If we go ahead with the concert, it is contrary to what we are preparing for," said Shukran Ibrahim, a senior official from the culture ministry's department that vets all foreign artists.
Ahhhh....so the point is that it's not in the "Merdeka" spirit laaa....
Kamarulzaman Mohamed, a party youth official, told The Associated Press on Monday that Lavigne's show was "considered too sexy for us" and would promote the wrong values just before independence day.
Wrong values? What does a concert with Avril have anything to do with UNITY? Doesn't it PROMOTE it since MUSIC can be enjoyed by ALL regardless of age and race??
"We don't want our people, our teenagers, influenced by their performance. We want clean artists, artists that are good role models," he said.
Good role models....what influence??? It's AVRIL!! She's so clean it's ridiculous!! No scandals (at least none I know off) and she is totally off the drugs and alco radar! Tsk!
And the funniest part....
Malaysia requires all performers to wear clothes without obscene or drug-related images and be covered from the chest to the knees. They must also refrain from jumping, shouting, hugging and kissing on stage.
Hahahaha!!! Biggest JOKE!! How la to have a concert with no JUMPING!!!! Would anyone associate Avril with "sexy clothes"??? Stoopid la our country.
*shakes head*
No wonder Beyonce went to Indonesia and Christina went to Singapore~!!!

I haven't been posting much about my doings but oh well, here goes...
Was asked to take the day off to "recuperate" after a long long weekend travelling North for J&J. Of course this means I'll have to have another long long weekend travelling SOUTH for J&J~!!
Gah~!
So with this Thursday I learnt one thing....I can't BEAR being stuck alone in an empty apartment with nothing to do~!!!!!
Woke up early cos I was used to and rolled around in bed until late.
Got up and played "The Sims 2" for a while but couldn't STAND the silence.
Broke with what I usually do and went to Cineleisure for a manicure.
Promptly lost my mind and paid double for Nail Art (which I sorely regretted the moment it was done~!!!!). I'm NOT a white-ish girl~!! I like BLACK~!!

Went walking around alone and Border-ing until Jenna Babe came to RESCUE ME.
Popped over for dinner at Sakae Sushi (we had cravings~!!) and all pics were taken by her so I'll link it when she posts it~! ;)
Walked around, stopped to browse, walked around some more and finally bought an RM5.40 lip gloss (originally RM18) so I'd have change for parking. GAH~!
All in all...I've decided that I prefer working. Having the day off pretty much sucks cos everyone is busy doing their thing and I'm pathetically alone.
(I say this now but later I'll be moaning the lack of holidays)
Ps: I WANT A HOLIDAY LAAAA~!!! But no I'm not really looking forward to going to Genting this Merdeka.... SYC~! EC~!! HUI MIN~!! CL~!!!! Let's meet up there and get stone cold drunk~!! *giggles*

My stomach has gone absolutely haywire on me...GAH~!
Diahorhea...cramps....being a girl really sucks at some points~! Since I can't leave the comfort of the cold cold bathroom, I figure going online helps take the edge of the pain much better than meds do~! (And after taking too many meds you become immune to them so...*shrugs*) You just gotta love the person who invented the lappie and Maxis mobile! Lolz~!
In any case, been doing some research and if mum has her way I'll be in London by Feb next year.
Excited?
Hell yeah~!
Apprehensive?
Well... du-oh~!
Truth is, I really want to go so badly. Missing CNY is no biggie since I've always pretty much hated CNY~!! I'd be sad I was missing the annual reunion thingy with my highschool friends but I guess that's what the Internet is for eh?
People always say stuff like its a great new adventure and all that...and they remind me that I've been overseas before. But it was different because I had Chiewy there (love ya, miss ya,can't wait till you're back babez!!!) and that made it not so scary for me. London....I'll be all alone unless I decide to go to Manchester instead...or South Hampton. ^^
I will definitely find a way to do what I want to do. This is the first step and it's a pretty big baby step but I'll take what I can get~! And maybe in between studying I'll work and set aside enough to go around Europe~! Or see all the fantastic West End shows I've always dreamed of watching live~! Or just finally being able to enjoy Christmas in London~!!!! Okay I did that before last time and it ROCKED~!
I guess having dreams finally within my reach really does cause one to become euphoric. Going overseas will really be a mark of change in my life. Another good thing is in the UK, the price of a flight to the USA won't be so ruinously expensive so maybe next year I'd get to go to LA for the "Hotties" reunion~! Lolz~!
Maybe then I'd find it in me to let myself go and be a kid with the gorgeous Aussie "Sweeties", Sean and Kim Eirik (is that how you spell it? Bah! Kimber works better! ^^) and even go to Disneyland~!!!
Ok...I have to stop dreaming and come back to my cold cold bathroom. Gah. Maybe by this time next year, I'll be in a colder bathroom rushing for my photography finals! A girl can dream eh?
Off the mark, I'm glad I finally got concrete proof and it makes me so happy because finally I can truly let go~! Tra la la la ~! Of course this just tells me a little more about myself.
Ooh and another thing~! I'm glad you're coming back Chiewy. I've really missed you~! ^^

Suffer the children ... of some
BRAVE NEW WORLD
By AZMI SHAROM
Without exotic foreign holidays, life will no longer be the same.
The sun was setting as the Proton Perdana crunched up the gravel driveway of the bungalow on Jalan Kia Peng. The man sitting in the back seat was oblivious to the gentle glow of dusk that bathed the large well-manicured gardens.
His heart felt heavy and his stomach was knotted.
He was going to break their hearts and there was no way out.
“We are here, sir.”
The voice of the driver shook him out of his deep thoughts. With a barely audible grunt of thanks, he stepped out and with leaden feet walked towards the door.
Before he reached it, the huge oak edifices swung open. A small woman in a blue uniform retrieved his suitcase and collected his shoes as he slipped them off. He hardly noticed her, either.
From within the house, there were sounds of a loud X Box game in progress and young children shouting. The man walked into the living room. Expensive Italian furniture was arranged around a 40-inch plasma TV, its sleek modernity a stark contrast to the gaudiness of the sofas and armchairs.
A boy and a girl were transfixed by the screen, watching monsters get beheaded. A woman lounged in an armchair, her diamonds glittering.
“Listen, everybody, I must speak to you,” said the man.
“Not now, Papa, we are reaching level five,” said the boy.
“No, now,” said the man.
The sombre tone of his voice cut through the shrill screams from the video game. The children and the woman looked to the man, their normal indifference suddenly replaced by unfamiliar concern.
Seating himself, the man leaned on his elbows and stared at the floor.
In a voice quivering with barely suppressed emotion, he started to speak.
“Darling, children, I am afraid we can’t go to Orlando Disneyland this year.”
“Where are we going then?” asked the girl. “England? Europe?”
“We can only go to somewhere in Asean.”
The gasps from the family just about drowned out the crack in his voice as he finished his sentence. Then the barrage of questions started.
Why? What happened? How can this be?
As the voices rose to a crescendo, the man snapped, tears running down his face as he screamed, “The oil price has gone up and we can’t go on holidays around the world any more!”
“But, darling,” said the woman, “I already told the girls I would bring back for them oranges from Florida. How can I face them in Carcosa at our high tea tomorrow?”
“Papa, you promised Disneyland. I hate you! I hate you!” shrieked the boy as he stormed out of the room.
“Wait, boy!” he called out. “You must try to understand. The whole nation is suffering. We must make sacrifices. It is for the good of the country and for the future.”
But it was too late; the boy had already disappeared into his bedroom. Soon, the sound of heavy rap played at full volume could be heard.
“Oh, darling. Think about the children. How are they going to face their friends at the international school? Where are we going to go on holiday?”
The man wiped away his tears of frustration and held his head as he thought of what to say.
Suddenly, he looked up and with a smile bordering on the maniacal, he said: “What about Singapore? Or we can even go local. Let’s go to A Famosa in Malacca. It’s fun, they have a theme park and an animal and cowboy show. Malaysia Truly Asia! Heh heh heh ...”
His laugh petered out as the girl and the woman stared at him icily, slicing through his forced jollity.
For the longest while, nothing was said. Then the rap music abruptly stopped. The three looked up as the boy walked back to them.
“I understand sacrifice, Papa. And I think I have the solution,” he said.
The family stared at him, hope shining in their eyes.
“We can all go to Hong Kong Disneyland!” he exclaimed excitedly.
The man broke down again and buried his face in his hands. Between his gasping sobs, he cried,
“Oh, my son, my poor, poor boy. Don’t you know? Hong Kong is not in Asean.”
“Arrrgghhh!” the boy screamed and ran back to his room, wailing, “I hate you! I hate my life! I want to die!”
The girl, unable to bear the pain any longer, stood up. She loomed over the broken shell that was her father and said, “I know we all have to suffer because of the oil price, Papa. But why do WE have to suffer SO MUCH?” Then she too stalked away.
The man stared into the middle distance.
His pain was almost too much to endure. The only sound in the room was the clinking of his wife’s diamonds as her bosom heaved with racking sobs.
It barely smothered the sound of his shattering heart, for without their exotic foreign holidays, life would never be the same again.
