Love songs....they are every-freaking-where...
You turn on the radio and chances are nine out of ten times, it's a love song.
Break-up songs...please-love-me songs...I'm-on-top-of-the-world songs....
You go into a supermarket or a mall and the songs they play are love songs.
You go home and some one in your house is playing a love song...
Bloody hell.
I used to not notice the types of songs when I listen to music but now, my mind automatically recoils at any sort of reference to the four-lettered L word. Which sucks because all I can listen to now are dark twisty sort of screamy songs. And these songs play havoc with my already messed up mind.
Shucks.
I hate love songs. And I hate being me.

I have puttered to and fro...
dwelt...
then dwelt upon my problem again and again until it sickened me to even think about it..
Finally,
I have reached a solid conclusion.
For once, I have made my decision and I shall stick to it.
I might regret it...and it's a risk...and I never take risks...
The feeling was like standing at the precipice and looking the abyss in the face...
then taking a giant leap of faith.
And I've never been happier...

::~:: Scream ::~::
Artiste: Zac Efron
OST: High School Musical 3
The day your door is closed
The echoes fill your soul
They won't say which way to go
Just trust your heart
To find what you're here for
Open another door
But I'm not sure anymore
It's just so hard
Voices in my head
Tell me they know best
Got me on the edge
They're pushin', pushin', they're pushin'
I know they've got a plan
But the ball's in my hands
This time is man-to-man
I'm drivin', fightin', inside of
(A world that's upside down)
It's spinning faster
What do I do now
Without you?
I don't know where to go
What's the right team
I want my own thing
So bad I'm gonna scream
I can't chose, so confused
What's it all mean
I want my own dream
So bad I'm gonna scream
I'm kicking down the walls
I gotta make them fall
Just break through them all
I'm punchin', crashin',
I'm gonna
Fight to find myself
Me, and no one else
Which way, I can't tell
I'm searchin', searchin', can't find a
(Way that I should turn)
I should, to right or left, it...
It's like nothing works
Without you
I don't know where to go
What's the right team
I want my own thing
So bad I'm gonna scream
I can't chose, so confused
What's it all mean
I want my own dream
So bad I'm gonna scream
Yeah, the clock's running down,
Hear the crowd getting loud
I'm consumed by the sound
Is it her? Is it love?
Can the music ever be enough?
Gotta work it out!
Gotta work it out!
You can do it!
You can do it!
I don't know where to go
What's the right team
I want my own thing
So bad I'm gonna scream

Okay...back to the birthday.
*Note: This was the post bloody Blogger deleted so it's a pretty late one. Oh well I get to add stuff to it then!!*
It was supposed to be a farewell for the interns...so even though we were exhausted (ok, Leo wasn't exhausted he was practically HOPPING with excitement! >.<) and it was raining pretty heavily, we all piled in Leo's car to drive to Neway Puchong.

(Playing with Leo's Alvin on the way)

(Rainy dismal way to Puchong...ok I lied. I love rainy days!)
Yep, karaoke.
Lemme just say that this would be my third time only in a karaoke joint and I totally wasn't looking forward to it since the last two times...were...pretty dismal actually! The first was an absolute disaster (won't get into why...) and the second time was only so-so...
When we got there, my first thought was, "God this place is freaking COLD!!" And coming from me, it must mean it was REALLY cold since everyone else was shivering. Totally raided the buffet section with the interns and Leo since we all assumed we were taking food for the whole office. WQ being off that day was only joining later so we took for Irene, Ms Ang, Leo, the two interns and me.
When we had food enough for an army, we started...well....attacking it. Rainy days and cold places are totally conducive to eating I can tell you! Started singing all sorts of songs which was really FUN since everyone was into it!! And OMG....Irene can totally SING!!!! She does Whitney effortlessly!! Though not as powerful but every bit as melodious!
WQ pops in after TWO hours of us doing nonsense...and stuff I totally cannot erase from my head (thanks Leo! >.<) and the interns really letting loose all over the room! Anyways, all through this, some guy from Neway keeps popping in, asking "Is there a birthday here?". Being totally doink I thought he was some confused soul or that someone else was having a bday there! (In my defense it was one week early ya!)
It only hit me when they brought in the Durian Durian cake from SR! Irene remembered I like the cake so that's what she got! So touched I almost cried. That night we yowled and danced and went crazy (part of the birthday surprise included beer...and no I only sipped a little!) until two am!
I paid for it the next day with a full blown flu (memang wasn't feeling well) and a totally hoarse voice.
My first surprise bday by my colleagues!! LOVE YOU ALL SO SO MUCHIEZ~!!!
*additional info*
The surprise by LY, Jenn, VY and CL (plus Simon) was slightly less subtle since it was kinda obvious! Went to the Dessert Bar where I had my FIRST EVER chocolate fondue!! It was really really REALLY fun too since it was the first time I ever played Uno Stacko!!! Poor Simon was seriously bullied by us! ^^
Anyways, thanks Jenn for the Hazel contacts and the cute cute bear! *hugz muackiezzz*
Thanks LY for the hand-sewn pillow! (tho I maintain it looks like '11nd' instead of '22nd'! *ducks*)
And thank you everyone for the Facebook and Friendster messages. I'm sorry I haven't been sending you bday wishes too. Work is no excuse, I admit I'm totally lousy at friend follow-ups! Thank you for forgiving me and giving me wishes anyways! I LOVE YOU ALLL~!!!!
To all of you whose birthday I missed or forgot...
HAPPY (EXTREMELY) BELATED BIRTHDAY~!!!!

::~::Always Look On the Bright Side Of Life::~::
Artiste(s): Whichever Broadway Cast is performing!
OST: Monty Python: Spamalot
Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...
And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...
If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.
And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...
For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.
So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath
Life's a piece of shit
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
And always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the right side of life...
(Come on guys, cheer up!)
Always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the bright side of life...
(Worse things happen at sea, you know.)
Always look on the bright side of life...
(I mean - what have you got to lose?)
(You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing.
What have you lost? Nothing!)
Always look on the right side of life...

*There are some funny bits of dialogue I omitted cos it only makes sense if you know what Spamalot is about! But this is my "happy" song for now.

This says it all...
http://www.danielykl.com/blog/2008/06/05/badawi-petrol-up-no-problem-car-pool-lol/
Quite frankly it all smacks of hypocrisy!! Stop telling us what we should do and SHOW US WHAT YOU CAN DO~!!
It's stupid to ask us to tighten our belts and live sparingly when you swan around in big ass cars and over-priced homes!
Oh yes...and the bicycle thing? Quite frankly if we were living in Australia (Brisbane specifically since it's all I know) it wouldn't be a problem. Why? Because over there, there are proper bus/car/bicycle lanes! Everything in it's place and people who respect it! Here, if you tried to cycle to work you'd either die because some blind bugger with a "kopi o" license would knock you down or you'd be poisoned by our "wonderfully fresh" air.
Public transportation? HAH! Perhaps if you'd like to spend a morning stuck in an LRT that has broken down that's fine! Or maybe you'd prefer waiting at a bus stop for an invisible bus? And let's not even go to taxis!
I'm so irate I can't even put my thoughts properly here!
Quite frankly I don't give a shit about political whatevers and whatnots but I do care about the "advice" they are giving us and the excuses!! And it's really mad to keep raising the cost of living when our salary cannot even HANDLE this raise! Hello? Not all of us Malaysians get a five to six digit salary!!
GAH!!!!!

Was searching for stuff online when I noticed something....apparently the Cempaka Schools put on their version of Wicked, titled "Witched of Oz" about this time LAST YEAR.
I went and did some searching and found this... THIS is what one gets when we have a good team and good management!!! Whyla couldn't we have this much fun during My Fair Lady??
*sighs*

I feel like I'm turning into this bitter old fat hag who is miserable pratically every waking second...wait...who's to say I'm happy even in my sleep?
Whatever.
Anyways, went to Marie (pronounced Ma-ree-AY) Digby's showcase (hmm...performance la) @ 1 Utama...was seriously floored by the amount of ppl there, and just how few of them have heard anything other than "Umbrella" and "Say It Again".
Anyways, she's really pretty and is one of those rare singers that sing really REALLY well live! As Ryo said, she makes playing the guitar look HOT~!
Got uber grouchy at this family jostling in front of me and only got a glimpse of the stage when they finally left.
Tak tahu siapa datang buat apa?? CIS!
Anyways, afterwards, she actually had to be escorted (by armed security guards no less!) to GAP to begin the autograph session. Didn't help that fans were hounding the security team and jostling for closeup pics. Stupid or what? Just LINE UP and then get a closeup laaaa!! She HAS to sign right in front of you right??? Stupid donkeys.
Didn't bother staying for the signing session since I haven't bought her CD and wasn't about to brave the crazy crowd in GAP to buy a t-shirt for her to sign!
Anyways, photos from ROCK UP! 2008 in random order below.
(I took out a lot of pictures)

I can't believe I'm posting about MDG...but here it is...
I have never EVER been so irritated at any TV personality EVER and the last one was Bianca from ANTM Cycle 9!
Seriously, for me the biggest flaw of MDG is STILL that they are filming AND airing at the same time. So guess what?
We have annoying parents being tattle-tales to a certain girl who then bitches about it on air. Other parents call to give support and to give advice...this parent who sounds extremely nasty and pushy just keeps telling tales and letting their child be all bratty to them. The tone is damned kanasai wei...IF I spoke to MY Dad/Mum like that I'd get a real angry parent or a probable slap across the face.
And God...FAKE sial!!
What's with the cam hogging? And the "I'm-such-a-victim" routine? Hello? If the WHOLE house except your timid roommate has a prob with you then SOMETHING has to be wrong with YOU right?
*rollz eyes*

Dear Bloggie,
When I was a little girl, I watched Mummy take fantastic pictures with an SLR that never failed to churn out beautiful pictures. With it came a fascination of things taken at different angles and the beauty of things people usually do not see.
Many years and a few cameras later, I've decided I want to invest in a good DSLR...
Too bad the one I want will put a damned big hole in my pocket!!
So I've decided that having one is better than none...and the best thing is I can upgrade the lens!!
So, introducing my new dream...

I've been watching Malaysian Dreamgirl for a time because originally, a girl I knew from college (ok...and didn't really like) apparently made it to the closed auditions.
Since she'd already made it onto Malaysia's Most Beautiful (was that what it's called again?) and left quite early I thought I'd get a few laughs from this. But all I got... was seriously sad. I guess since I'm a major fan of America's Next Top Model (ANTM for short, incidently it's MDG for Malaysian Dreamgirl...) I expected a little more. I watched ANTM progress from a, sort of, dinky show into an international dream.
That being said, every show has its pitfalls especially the first time. MDG just had horrible post-production. The format, the lighting, the process all seemed flawed and two-dimensional. Eih, guys, do some homework and research a lil before actually publishing online la... There are so many model shows out there and so many references but I guess these people very too cocky and wanted something (er....) unique.
I didn't like the way the auditions were carried out and I really didn't like the way they broke it to the contestants. One should NEVER critique others like that in front of potential contestants. It's degrading and demoralising to hear all that stuff and not even get in! Also, I've Googled this and seen some (woah) really nasty bashing, some of which I agree with but not all.
During the judging session, I felt that the judges had some clear favourites (this is something you never really see DURING auditions and in FRONT of the girls!) as their faces would reflect how they felt about certain girls. A certain judge's face would be quite black if a girl he/she didn't like walked in or it would be all smiley when someone he/she liked walked in. (I'm not naming names here!) I mean...WHAT?? It's already scary standing up there facing three people (American Idol much?) who will critique and harp on stuff that doesn't seem really relevant to me. But then again, I'm not an industry expert. Maybe the editing just makes the judges look really inconsistent. Hmmm....
Since she'd already made it onto Malaysia's Most Beautiful (was that what it's called again?) and left quite early I thought I'd get a few laughs from this. But all I got... was seriously sad. The biggest thing I really didn't get were the prizes. If this is a modelling show...where is the prize that corresponds to that particular vocation/job? They get all sorts of stuff and supposedly "an experience of a lifetime" but somehow I think they should have placed either a booked session for the winner or something to boost their portfolio. *shrugs*
Either ways, they have a long long way to go and a lot of things to fix. If they only did it right, it does have *some* potential. I agree with some other people that Malaysia is pretty famous for adapting and pariah-ing some famous shows but it's all part of a franchise I guess. Work on it la...maybe it'll get better with time!!
Oh...and I've just caught the 3rd episode (or 1/2 the third ep?) and I realized that Malaysian hair technology is really not as advanced as the Americans. On ANTM, they can give a girl longer hair via a hair weave and they actually cite refs from famous industry people when they give makeovers. Here the girls get wierd funky cuts that don't really seem all that versatile to me. There was this girl with hair cut short and red highlights...how in the world is that supposed to be high fashion? Even commercial fashion does not showcase girls with that kind of hair!
Well, like I said, I'm no expert.
But in any case, the girl I knew didn't make it in (LOLZ!!) and I'm kinda looking wondering whether or not to continue watching. Oh well.

If ANTM would release box sets, I'd be so happy I'd sapu the 9 Cycles they already have. (Cycle 10 is running now)
