I've never actually liked Jolin Tsai...maybe it's because when I was still living in the KTAR Hostel, this girl on my floor would periodically...ok....ALWAYS play Jolin Tsai's Pirate-something-or-other at an ear numbing volume incessantly!!
Meaning I get back from classes, it's playing...I try to do my stuff or rest, it repeats...and repeats...and REPEATS...all the way into the night.
Now I don't hate the song. In fact I did like it a lil when I first heard it. But by the gazillionth time, I was ready to burn/slash/destroy/rip etc etc every single CD containing that song to shreds.
Recently, a Jolin fan(-atic) *coughJenncough * has been reintroducing me to this singer and all I can say is, say what you like about her, she can DANCE! Although sometimes it doesn't seem to match the song the dancing is always packaged in a fantastical backdrop and executed Flashdance-Bollywood style that is guarenteed to leave your eyes smarting a little.
So...yeah...she warrants a second listen...and maybe three...but I still think she's way too skinny. And am I the only one who thinks the latest Agent J thingy is rather reminiscent of Aeon Flux? All the way down to the hair, black leotardy thingy and forgotten lover?
