When I was a little girl, I absolutely loved Disney cartoons. I'll always remember Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Beauty & The Beast .... then came Pocahontas, Mulan, The Lion King....

They were absolutely magical....and timeless.

Then came the sequels.

*wince*

I wonder what's with those Disney people. Why ruin a perfectly good cartoon with a lousy sequel??? For example, Little Mermaid Two. Oh GOD! The animation was horrific and the storyline cheesy. It ruined the original story!!!

Then there was Beauty & The Beast : The Magic Christmas (What the -)....Pocahontas 2 (GAG me), Cinderella 2 (Oh MAN!!!!) and let's not forget Mulan 2 (I am....speechless)!!!

Apparently, The Lion King 2 was good but since I was already super disillusioned by all those lousy sequels that tainted my memories of childhood, I didn't even want to bother.

Then came, "Cinderella III : A Twist in Time".

My first thought was, "AIYOOO can't you people just get creative and create a new story????"

So naturally, I didn't even bother to check it out. I'd much rather watch Barbie!!

But today, I was surfing Youtube and I stumbled across clips of the newest Cinderella. And frankly... I actually got interested.

The storyline goes :

Cinderella's stepmom steals the magic wand and turns back time. She magically makes the glass slipper fit Anastasia (the sister that grew a conscience in Cinderella II) and breaks Cinderella's glass slipper.

However, the Prince refuses to marry her and the stepmom magically makes him forget Cinderella. So he agrees to marry Anastasia. Cinderella is heartbroken when she realizes that he does not remember her and in her attempts to reach out to him, gets herself exiled (I think...cos there's a boat involved). He realizes that although he cannot remember her, he did not forget how he felt about her. So he goes after her and wants to marry her.

Of course evil step mom isn't just gonna sit by and watch that happen! So, she turns Anastasia into Cinderella and sends the real Cinderella...somewhere. Dunno where cos I haven't watched it. Anyways, Cinderella crashes the wedding just as Anastasia refuses to marry the Prince (cos now she's nice....hmmm). Anyways, as usual good triumphs over evil bla bla bla.

But it really did look good from the clips!! So...I think I'll add it to my list of DvDs to buy! *grinz*
