I was doing research for a dance for UTAR Ball when I found this song. The last time I heard it, I was in Form 1 and Cinderella (Rodgers and Hammerstein) was playing on TV.
~Do I Love You?~
Prince:
Do I love you because you're beautiful
Or are you beautiful because I love you?
Am I making believe I see in you
A girl too lovely to be really true?
Do I want you because you're wonderful
Or are you wonderful because I want you?
Are you the sweet invention of a lover's dream?
Or are you really as beautiful as you seem?
Cinderella:
Am I making believe I see in you
A man too perfect to be really true?
Do I want you because you're wonderful
Or are you wonderful because I want you?
Both:
Are you the sweet invention of a lover's dream?
Or are you really as wonderful as you seem?
Which really goes to show that love can be blind. I mean...do you love someone because she is beautiful? Or no matter what they look like, they are beautiful to you because you love them?
It's interesting to note that some people might be of the second group, but after their friends picture into the equation with remarks like, "Wah! Like that also you want ar?" they get influenced and start with the, "You could lose some weight..." or "This shirt is not right for you..." and so on so forth.
Does that mean love is really so fickle? Then why have it at all? I know girls who can actually compare the amount of boyfriends with others like the guys are toys.
E.g. "Wow...you have five boyfriends adi ar? I only had four..." (this is a true statement by the way, heard from a friend)
So....what is "love" nowadays? Just a sudden outburst of emotions? Or perhaps emotions that grow from the right situation or the right time?
"We love because it's the only true adventure." - Nikki Giovanni
I guess that might be true... love is like an adventure...but to most...
"Love is just a game" - Satine "Moulin Rouge"
