Well...it's finally here!! THE day.

The day when all you'll see are gushy gushy couples....bouquets of flowers, boxes of chocolates....wrapped presents...pink umbrellas...the works...

And wouldn't we all love to see...

I wish.

Every year all this day brings are nightmares (I mean this literally. To those I've confided in, you'll understand...) and a cloying feeling that somehow makes me feel like this holiday has taken the gift of Love and mangled it. I guess that's called commercialization. And frankly, yesterday when Voon Yin and I went to watch "Music & Lyrics" (for free!!) we both wondered if we had asked for it. To go to a romantic comedy...on the eve of Valentines....by ourselves... hmm.... and yeah the place was crawling with the usual lovey dovey couples. But I also saw happy families...and friends hanging out together and I thought, "That's what Valentine's Day is all about...not just the couple couple thing....but family love and friendship....it's love too!"

To all my friends and beloved family...I just want to say how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE you!!

You light up my life and without you I wouldn't be who I am today.... (hmmm......)
