Ho hum...
Just last Tuesday, we (Lydia, Pek Yen, Su Yen and moi) decided to go check out the Italian Embassy (no NOT for cute Italian guys!!) to get some info for our press conference, which happens to be "Visit to Venice : Behind The Masque."
We sorta set out after class which ended at about 1.30 (I think... : p). Felt a wee bit carsick cos we had to go to Jalan Ampang Hilir where ALL the embassies are. I think I'm too used to driving adi, plus the weather was rather humid...
Y'know, some embassies are rather stupid! The signs on the gates are miniscule!! Plus some of them happen to be on the main road!! How the heck do they expect us to know what embassy they are? And some (wah lau eh!) got BIG SIGNBOARD pointing to the embassy! Are going round and round the same area for seems like hours, we decided to stop and ask for directions. Passed this gorgeous house (super gigantic!!) that looked like a palace complete with an Italian terazzo, giant cast iron gates and, get this, two giant sandstone lions outside the gates!! Wah!! I like lor!!
Anyways, the directions only served to confuse more than help...and we got lost again (worth it la cos the houses were fantastic!!)... then we decided to stop and ask for direction AGAIN!! Found out that we were rather close to the Italian Embassy so we drove slowly. Still, we passed this house with a gold plaque and all I could see was "Residenzia". Lydia braked, reversed...and realized that it was the RESIDENCE of the Embassador or Italy! Grrrr!! Irritating lor!! So we continued on until FINALLY we found the damned embassy...only to find out that it closes at ONE pm!! So syiok wan ar? Adoik!!
Felt very irritated but since we were all in town, we decided to head down to Mont Kiara and check out this costume shop (for our press conference also). Again after a few wrong turns, we found the shop...so syiok!! Some of the costumes were fantastically elaborate...and some looked like cheap imitations (think LOTR characters, StarWars and the like...) checked out the masks and woo boy!! They were gorgeous!!
After some discussion, we decided to ask the lady at the counter how much to rent a costume...she said "RM40 plus another RM40 deposit, inclusive of two accesories...we'll do the cleaning!"
Hmm....sounded reasonable...but where the heck to get the money? So we decided to leave and just discuss it with the other members of our group...
Aiyoh, once I got back I had a very bad headache!! Just gos to show that I'm no longer used to being the passenger!! *sobs* I miss my baby!!*sniffles*
